Nice to see Bklyn Tech still has a swimming team. I’m a former Bushwick H.S.student who swam and was lifeguard in Section 1 in Brighton Beach. Back in the 90′s Bushwick was known for its good swimming team and for producing most of the city’s lifeguards. Now I’m a teacher at Bushwick H.S. and I’m sad to see how the program went down the drain when Richie Sher retiered. I have tried to teach swimming but they won’t let me. I tried to explain the legacy of Bushwick’s swimming team but it has all fallen in deaf ears. I hear Bushwick’s has one of the best swimming pools in Brooklyn but not swimming team. Can anyone help?
