I concur with Rabbi Dratcher. While Mr. Hikind cannot make the victims report the crimes, he, using his political influence and political rhetoric know how, can certainly encourage or persuade people to do the right thing so that this vicious cycle of abuse is eventually broken. I contend that turning a blind eye to molesters, and letting them continue to prey on children is a bigger Chillul Hashem than reporting the molester immediately! I believe that those protecting or turning a blind eye to molesters are abetting and aiding a horrific crime!

ohel is directly responsible for the sexual abuse of my child. My e wife abandoned them and i was applying for custody and ohel got hold of the children and put them in foster homes while the case was making it s way through the courts. Since my ex wife was a part of the Chasidic community somehow controlled the courts and got them to give her custody though her husband is a convicted child abuse (he spent time in jail for sexually abusing his own children until the Boston rabbi got him out a jail in a few days. Talk about America going downhill. From what I have seen in America and in the frum community in general I am not surprised things are going downhill. I just hope people wake up in time and put places like ohel out of business.

What are David Mandel’s academic and professional credential’s for running OHEL?? Does he have any? Is he a mandated abuse reorter?

Ohel has been negligent in another case…when it was called The Infant’s Home of Boro Park in the 1970′s. The Rabbi Dr. Joel Rosenschein (and Mrs. Denham, who was the supervisor) at the time fired somebody who was accused of molesting a young boy while officially teaching him Bar Mitvah lessons. I think that Ohel is hiding a plethora of history about sexual child abuse in the Jewish community.
I can’t give any more info than this at this time.
