Ocean Hill Fire Victims Identified; Another Blaze Breaks Out In Boerum Hill

The man killed in the Ocean Hill fire last night has been formally identified, the Daily News reports. He was 35-year-old Eddie Ortiz. The two other victims have been identified as Paco Ortiz, 81, and Nydia Ortiz, 40. They are in stable condition at Interfaith Hospital. The News says that a 14-year-old boy told police he saw a man running from the scene of the fire moments before the building on Decatur St. went up in flames.

Meanwhile, a two-alarm fire broke out at 4:30 this morning at Concord St. in Boerum Hill, leaving two firefighters hurt. The residents escaped unharmed, but their home was gutted by the blaze.
