City to Pay $440G Payout to Brooklyn Men Beaten by NYPD in West Indian Parade
The Daily News has reported that the city will pay $440,000 to three Brooklyn men who were beaten by riot cops who used nightsticks to clear a street at the West Indian American Day Parade in Brooklyn. The NYPD was responding to a report of gunfire near Church Ave. when officers began swinging their batons at bystanders in the early morning hours of Sept. 5, 2005, a lawsuit charges.
