GE to Provide Critical Backup Power for Brooklyn

GE Marine and Stationary, a unit of GE Transportation, announced today that the New York City Department of Environmental Protection has reached an agreement with Skanska USA to purchase three gensets to provide backup power in case of a black out.

This backup power is necessary to provide the safety and security of Brooklyn’s water treatment facilities after the city’s blackouts in 2002 and 2003, according to Marketwatch.com
