287 Guns off Brooklyn Streets

In the first gun buy-back event of the year,
Brooklynites sold the police 287 firearms to the tune of $42,420 Saturday.
The event, which used six participating churches as collection points for the guns, followed a similar effort by District Attorney Charles Hynes’s office in 2008, which then bought more than 1,500 guns off the streets.
