About 400 Geese Euthanized in Prospect Park to Protect Planes
A spokeswoman for the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Wildlife Services has said that about 400 Canadian geese have been euthanized in Prospect Park with carbon dioxide. The effort was a preventative measure. Last January, Captain Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger landed a US Airways plane into the Hudson River after striking a flock of the Canadian geese.
