Arrest Made in Bed-Stuy Salon Shooting
Police arrested Winston Cox, 19, in connection with Saturday’s shooting at a hair salon in Bedford-Stuyvesant, police say. Winston was wanted by police for the attempted murder of an off-duty officer involved in the shooting but he has yet to be charged.
Officer Ferris Jones of the NYPD Crime Lab in Jamaica, Queens was a customer at Sabine’s Hallway on Franklin Ave. when she confronted the attempted robber. The suspect fired at least three rounds injuring no one in the salon. Jones returned fire and struck the suspect at least once, the Daily News reports.
The police were looking for Cox since at least Sunday, police say.
