Woman Steals Tens of Thousands in Adoption Support Money

Katrina Perry of Brooklyn Heights was found guilty yesterday of taking $33,000 in adoption support checks sent to her niece’s grandmother and legal guardian, Perry’s own mother, who died in 2006.
The child was put into foster care after the death of her grandmother. Perry did not inform the Administration for Children’s Services about the death and opened a fraudulent account in her mother’s name to cash the checks that continued to be sent for years.
