The LIU Brooklyn men’s basketball team defeated Mount St. Mary’s in the Northeast Conference championship Monday night. It’s the third year in a row that the Blackbirds have won the conference. The win guarantees the team a spot in the NCAA Championship later this month. Senior guard C.J. Garner led the team, scoring 31 points on the way to a 91-70 victory.
